Watford are in serious danger of losing Richarlison in the summer, with the Brazilian emerging as a target for Manchester United and Chelsea.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea and Manchester United are monitoring Premier League breakout star Richarlison. The player has had a majorly fruitful maiden season in England and this has seen the Watford star being monitored by the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, with even Everton among the clubs circling the Brazilian.

It is not often when a young unknown player arrives in the Premier League and takes it by storm in an instant. Richarlison though, had already created an air of expectancy around his talent as he rejected overtures from Chelsea to sign for Watford.

And a few games into his Watford career, his talent was already evident, with the Brazilian springing up with goals every now and then. While his hot form has cooled down to an extent, a tally of 5 goals and 5 assists in his maiden season is a decent return. Many would point to his dip in form as an expected outcome, but that has not deterred the other Premier League clubs from keeping a close eye on the 20-year-old.

Chelsea have Willian, Pedro and Eden Hazard as the only options on the wing, with Willian and Hazard being linked with a move away from the club in the summer transfer window. Nevertheless, even if they do end up staying, Chelsea need atleast one or two more wingers for the new season and Richarlison would help infuse a youthful energy into the squad.

Manchester United have been having their own share of problems, albeit in an entirely different manner compared to Chelsea’s. United’s left wing is overstaffed, while there is only Juan Mata capable of producing consistent performances on the right wing – a telling sign of a problematic situation given the fact that Mata isn’t a natural winger.

Richarlison had already expressed his discontent at the removal of manager Marco Silva from the helm, after what was a fantastic start under his tutelage. And with the kind of interest his talent is able to generate – Chelsea, Manchester United and Everton are all interested – the Watford star could be on his way out in the summer.

Watford have made it a habit of changing managers and in case the 20-year-old does wish to find a more stable club in terms of managerial turnover, Manchester United and Chelsea could be in a bit of a problem, with their recent record of changing managers.

The lure of European football could lure Richarlison to one of Manchester United and Chelsea, who both look to be in need of a winger. In terms of pure football, Richarlison, who loves to play from the left, could further add to the problems at Manchester United, if he fails to perform at the desired level on the right.

Whatever might transpire in the summer, Richarlison is tipped to be on his way out of Vicarage Road after spending just one season at the club. But, Watford might have no one else but themselves to blame for creating such a situation.
