Arsenal might have another contract situation on their hands, with Reiss Nelson attracting interest from the likes of Real Madrid and PSG.

According to Daily Mail, Arsenal’s contract woes seem to have no end. It appears Reiss Nelson is the latest to emerge on the radar of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. The Arsenal teenage wonderkid has only a year-and-a-half left on his contract and could be the next one to exit Emirates.

Reiss Nelson has been one of the few Arsenal players that seem to be living up to the expectations. The youngster was widely tipped to come through the ranks and become a hot property. And while he hasn’t yet set the Premier League alight or managed to land a regular spot in the first-team, his rise has been there for all to see.

At Arsenal since the age of nine, he made his debut for the club in the Community Shield tie against Chelsea in August. Since then, the player has appeared in all of Arsenal’s Europa League group stage encounters while also getting important first-team minutes under his belt in the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.

But, it is at the Under-23 level where has been most impressive, with 6 goals in 6 appearances for the side in the Under-23 Premier League, or Premier League 2, as it is commonly known nowadays. However, he could be the next one to pose problems for Arsenal, with the player attracting the likes of Real Madrid and PSG.

The 18-year-old has an Arsenal deal that will run out in 2019 and there has been no reports of negotiations regarding an extension for the attacker. Real Madrid’s newly established transfer policy sees them target players that are young and could form the core for the future.

There have been very few Englishmen that have made the move to the Spanish capital and even fewer as to the number of players who have been successful away from England. But, the newest wave of English talent has shown a penchant for moving abroad in search of playing time, case in point being Jadon Sancho’s move to Borussia Dortmund.

Within Arsenal’s own academy, there has been a small exodus of sorts, with Kaylen Hinds joining Wolfsburg while Chris Willock chose to move to Benfica.

The prospect of Real Madrid might entice Reiss Nelson, who could have to bide his time at Arsenal, especially with the Gunners deploying a 3-4-2-1 formation.

The potential and ominous exit of Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott might open up a spot for Reiss Nelson to be given a shot to impress in the Premier League. But, Arsenal would look to tie the youngster down early in order to avoid a situation they find themselves in, with regards to several first-team players.

If not, Real Madrid and PSG will be waiting to pounce.
