Gareth Bale has reportedly urged Real Madrid to sign Dele Alli, who is also a priority Barcelona target, if and when they decide to part with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Dele Alli is a revered figure in the footballing world right now. The Englishman’s meteoric rise to the top echelons of English football is nothing short of a fairytale. The player has come on the radar of clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich, with the former two making him a priority summer target.

And, if reports from Spanish publication Don Balon are to be believed, a former Tottenham star wants Alli to arrive at Santiago Bernabeu as a potential replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo. Gareth Bale has reportedly urged Los Blancos’ hierarchy to sign Dele Alli, if they do plan on cashing in on Cristiano Ronaldo anytime soon.

As per the report, Bale is confident that Florentino Perez will deliver on the promise of making him the central figure at Real Madrid soon. And, he is eyeing the addition of a trequartista like Alli to aid him to lead the Los Blancos attack.

Bale feels Alli would suit to the system and that the duo would be able to complement each other on the pitch. The Welshman has already conveyed his wish to Florentino Perez, who has had success in the past with Tottenham in respect of transfer dealings, Luka Modric and Gareth Bale being the examples of the aforementioned.

Alli recently signed a new deal and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has previously hinted that he would ask for transfer fee in the region of £80 million and upwards for the English international. But, that is unlikely to deter Real Madrid or any of the other interested parties.

Barcelona are looking to ease the pressure and remove the over-reliance on MSN to provide the goals and see Alli as the perfect addition in their course to achieve the aforementioned. The Catalans have made Alli a priority summer target and are surely set to test Tottenham’s resolve when the transfer window reopens.

But, Real Madrid’s main competition may be in the form of Manchester City. The Citizens are looking to freshen up the options at Pep Guardiola’s disposal and are reportedly ready to pump out a record amount in the summer to land him.

Manchester City would present an opportunity for Alli to stay in England, where he has seen his meteoric rise. But, Alli may be unwilling to upset the Tottenham faithfuls by moving to a league rival, which may hand Real Madrid the advantage.

And the presence of former Tottenham superstars Luka Modric and Gareth Bale would only go towards solidifying Real’s chances of securing Alli’s signature.

However, for now, Alli would be focused on helping Tottenham finish as high as they can on the Premier League table. But, it looks like the Englishman might just be set to be the next Tottenham star on his way to Real Madrid.
