Manchester City are reportedly ready to stump up a record fee in the summer to beat Barcelona and Real Madrid to Tottenham superstar Dele Alli.

As per an Express exclusive, Manchester City are ready to break the bank and the world-record transfer fee in order to land Tottenham sensation Dele Alli in the summer. The player has already been rumoured to be a priority target for Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. And it looks like the Citizens have joined the queue.

Tottenham look prepared to stave off any and all interest in Dele Alli. But, Manchester City are reportedly tempted to cross the record transfer fee mark of £89 million that Manchester United paid for Paul Pogba, in order to beat Barcelona and Real Madrid to the 20-year-old trequartista.

Pep Guardiola has started his revolution at Etihad and is already planning to move several pieces of the squad in order to make room for the arrivals that suit his philosophy. Gabriel Jesus has already arrived and Guardiola is thought to be looking for a player who can pitch in goals from the midfield.

And who better than Dele Alli, the man who has scored 13 goals already this season, with 11 of those coming in the Premier League. Also, Alli has already proven himself in England so he will be able to slot in well and would not take much time to get used to the surroundings, if at all.

But, they face widespread competition in their pursuit. Barcelona and Real Madrid have reportedly made Dele Alli a priority target in the summer while Bayern Munich have also re-entered the race for the midfielder as a viable replacement to out-of-form Thomas Muller.

Barcelona are looking to strengthen their midfield and lessen their over-reliance on the MSN trio for goals, something which was highlighted by Luis Enrique again over the weekend. Dele Alli, as mentioned above, is more than capable of doing just that and would be more than welcome at Nou Camp.

Real Madrid are always on the lookout for high-profile potentially long-term additions to their squad, which make sense to Florentino Perez, both in footballing and economic terms. Dele Alli is one of the hottest and most enterprising brands in English football right now and his on-field displays are nothing short of extraordinary either.

So, it would fit the profile of all the clubs interested in him. And, to be honest, at the age of 20, the world is his oyster and he is likely to continue painting the canvas that is his footballing career, be it in England or otherwise.
