Massimiliano Allegri has admitted that there is a huge chance that Juventus may lose Manchester United and Real Madrid target Paul Pogba this summer.

Pogba has been tipped for a return to Manchester United, the club from where he graduated as an academy player, but later went on to move to Juventus as a free agent in 2012. Now however, the Frenchman has become one of the best midfielders in Europe, and the Red Devils are reportedly prepared to shell out around €100 million for him.

Allegri confirmed that Juventus are looking at different offers for Pogba, and said that the 23-year old could be on the move this summer.

“Pogba is a Juventus player at the moment but we don’t know what is going to happen. The club are looking after negotiations,” Allegri was quoted as saying in the Daily Mirror.

However, Allegri also said that Pogba’s possible sale will not affect Juventus, as the Bianconeri have strengthened their squad by making a number of top signings this summer.

“Dani Alves, Medhi Benatia, Miralem Pjanic and Marko Pjaca have all arrived. When the market shuts, the squad will be very strong,” said the Juventus boss. “He (Pjaca) is another quality addition so whatever happens with Pogba, we will be in good shape.”

Has Allegri made Juventus great again?

The 2006 Calciopoli scandal had crippled Juventus, who were relegated to the Serie B the following season. While they only had to spend one season in Serie B (2006/07), Juventus took a long time to become one of the best teams in the Serie A once again. After four years of struggle, the Bianconeri finally won the Scudetto once again, under enigmatic manager Antonio Conte. However, the Turin-based outfit were still no match for European giants like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

Allegri, who had replaced Conte as the manager after the latter took charge of the Italian national team, had managed to guide Juventus to the Champions League final in the 2014/15 season, but the Bianconeri ended runners-up to Barcelona.

This summer however, Juventus have signed a number of top players, which not only makes their squad one of the strongest in Italy, but also in Europe. In fact, Allegri had, earlier this month, warned Pogba against leaving Juve, as he feels that the Bianconeri may be on the verge of becoming European giants once again.

While Pogba’s impending departure will undoubtedly hurt Juventus, the Bianconeri are set to receive a massive transfer fee, which they could put to use, in order to sign more top players.
