Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola is set to hold a meeting with Juventus officials, where he will present an offer worth £84 million, according to reports from the Italian media.

Raiola is currently said to be in Manchester, trying to hammer out personal terms with the Red Devils, in order to pave Pogba’s way for a return to Old Trafford.  Manchester United have been chasing the Juventus star’s signature throughout the summer, but the Old Lady’s asking price for the Frenchman seems to be the only problem.

Juventus are currently holding out for a £105 million transfer fee for Pogba, something that would make the 23-year old the highest paid player in the world. However, Manchester United are unwilling to match Juventus’ asking price.

According to Sky Italia, Raiola is set to meet with Juventus officials, in order to table an £84 million offer for Pogba.

Here is a direct translation for the Sky Italia tweet, which is in Italian: “#Raiola has asked for a meeting for @paulpogba. The @ManUtd offer of over €100mln [or £84m] will be presented.” [via Daily Express]

Incidentelly, Pogba is more interested in a move to Real Madrid, where he would get to play under former France World Cup winner Zinedine Zidane. However, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez does not agree with Juventus’ valuation of Pogba, and feels that the Frenchman is not worth more than £60 million.

This leaves Manchester United as the only club that are actually willing to shell out a large sum of money for the French midfielder. In fact, Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that the Pogba deal has reached its final lap, as Manchester United have already prepared a five-year-contract for the Frenchman.

While Pogba’s interest in a move to Real Madrid would have served as a dampener for Manchester United, a new clause in his contract with Juventus has come to light, which indicates that the Frenchman is likely to favour a move out of Juventus due to financial reasons.

According to another report in La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pogba has a secret clause in his contract with Juventus, which ensures that the Frenchman and his representatives will earn 20 per cent of his transfer fee, if the Bianconeri were to sell him. While the £84 million transfer fee is not as high as Juventus’ £105 million demand, Pogba is still set to pocket a massive £16.8 million, if Juventus were to accept this offer by Manchester United.
