Ahead of the top-of-the-table clash against Leicester City on Saturday, Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has heaped praises on teammate Sergio Aguero, saying that the Argentine international is lethal in front of goal. Hart also acknowledged the threat to City in the form of Jamie Vardy, the Premier League’s top scorer this season.

In a mouth-watering encounter that will feature quite a few key battles, the war between two of the league’s top marksmen could steal the show. With both Jamie Vardy and Sergio Aguero in electric form, England’s number one Joe Hart would be hoping that one striker does the job for his team, while the other has an unusually quiet outing.

Hart Praises ‘killer’ Aguero

Sergio Aguero has been in exquisite touch of late scoring 6 goals in his last 5 games in all competitions. Hart was quick to acknowledge the 27-year-old’s contribution, as Aguero helped City snatch all three points against Sunderland.

“He’s a phenomenal player, he’s a killer. He got one chance, stuck it in the corner and won us the game,” the Englishman said as reported by soccernews.

‘We will look to stop him’

While Sergio Aguero has been on fire for Manchester City, Jamie Vardy has taken the Premier League by storm this season for Leicester City. Hart admitted his compatriot is doing extremely well at the moment, but insisted City have enough in them to stop the 28-year-old.

“He’s doing well, but we’re going to look to stop him,” Hart added.

“[We will deal with him] the same way we dealt with him when we played at their place,” Hart said.

“He’s a top player and he’s really on top of his game at the moment, but we’ve got the same and we look forward to the challenge.”

Best striker vs leading scorer : who will emerge victorious?

Jamie Vardy has been the story of the season so far. With 18 goals to his name, Vardy’s astonishing rise is only matched by his team’s remarkable form. His two goals against Liverpool proved that he can be the man for the big occasion, and has more to his game than just intensity and desire. His opposite number, on the other hand, does not have to prove his pedigree anymore. With 13 goals in 17 appearances this season, Aguero is still the striker to watch out for in the English league, and is sure to give the Leicester defenders the runaround. Perhaps because of his experience on the big stage, the Argentine might just have the edge over Vardy. Nonetheless, it is bound to be a really close encounter.
