Luka Modric, who is currently an integral part of the Real Madrid midfield, spent quite some time in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur before moving to Spain, but that didn’t stop him dismissing the League and claiming that La Liga is the best football league in the world.

“The best players are now playing in Spain. England has so many great players but La Liga is now number one.

Two of the Best

Modric said that there were a lot of factors that attracted the most talented players to Spain and one of the biggest ones was the chance to play for two of the biggest clubs in the world, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

“It is probably a little bit of everything really, the weather, the glamour, those two clubs. Barcelona and Real Madrid are the best in the world and that certainly helps.”, he said.
