Thiago Silva is set to make his Premier League debut, as Kai Havertz retains his place in the starting XI after a smashing display in midweek.

Frank Lampard has made wholesale changes to the side that started in the 6-0 win against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup during the midweek as Chelsea get set to lock horns with West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.

Willy Caballero retains his spot after a superb performance against Barnsley, where he made nine saves, keeping a clean sheet in the process. This change, however, means it could be a long time before we see Kepa Arrizabalaga don the blues (or goalkeeper greens) for Chelsea again.

The big news of the day comes in the form of Thiago Silva’s Premier League debut, after making his first start, and a successful one for the club in the Carabao Cup. Andres Christensen. Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta is replaced by Reece James at right-back. On the opposite flank, Marcos Alonso starts ahead of Ben Chilwell, who does not even make the bench.

Up ahead in midfield, Mateo Kovacic retains his spot in the double pivot, and will partner N’Golo Kante in what is expected to be a 4-2-3-1. Hattrick-hero Kai Havertz will slot in as the attacking midfielder, hoping the display in midweek serves as some sort of confidence boost.

Timo Werner comes into the attack after missing out in midweek and will hope to get on to an amazing start, much like his compatriot Havertz some days ago. He will take up the role on the left wing, and will be aided by Mason Mount on the right, while Tammy Abraham starts upfront leading the line. Abraham and Havertz seemed to rock a solid connection for The Blues uptop, and will look to recreate the same.

Chelsea Starting Lineup: Caballero, James, Christensen, Silva, Alonso, Kante, Kovacic, Mount, Havertz, Werner, Abraham
