Takumi Minamino has been finally given a start as Liverpool end their 2019/20 Premier League campaign against Newcastle United.

Jurgen Klopp has made five changes from the side the secured a 5-3 win over Chelsea, for the Premier League encounter against Newcastle United this evening.

As we had predicted, the German has made only one change in defence, Neco Williams replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back. Andrew Robertson starts on the opposite flank as usual, with Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk operate at centre-back, although Dejan Lovren is also an option from the bench.

Alisson retains his place in goal despite a few questionable performances in recent weeks. He will be looking for a much-needed clean sheet against Newcastle United.

In midfield, vice-captain James Milner returns to the side, at the expense of Fabinho. The veteran should start alongside Georginio Wijnaldum and Naby Keita. Fabinho and youngster Curtis Jones are further options while Adam Lallana has not been named among the substitutes.

Moving forward, Klopp has replaced the front three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino. We could expect Harvey Elliott and Xherdan Shaqiri to make appearances in the second half.

Liverpool XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Williams, Gomez, van Dijk, Robertson; Milner, Wijnaldum, Keita; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Origi, Minamino.
