Paul Pogba has been named in the starting XI by Jose Mourinho, as Manchester United take on Leicester City in the season opener at Old Trafford.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has handed Paul Pogba a start in the first match of the 2018-19 Premier League season against Leicester City, much to everyone’s surprise. The Frenchman will don the captain’s armband, in the absence of Antonio Valencia.

Elsewhere, there are no surprise selections, with David De Gea starting in goal, behind the back four of Matteo Darmian, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw. Partnering Pogba in the middle of the park are new signing Fred, making his Premier League debut and academy product Andreas Pereira.

Upfront, Marcus Rashford gets the nod ahead of Romelu Lukaku. The Englishman will be flanked by Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez.
