FC Barcelona are set to take on Valencia CF in the first leg of the Copa Del Rey semi final, and the big news coming out of Camp Nou is that Argentine star Lionel Messi is fit to play.

Although Messi did not train with his teammates on Monday, Luis Enrique seems to be of the opinion that the star forward is completely fit to take part in this crucial match in Catalan capital.

“He’s perfectly OK,” FC Barcelona manager Luis Enrique was quoted saying by International Business Times. “We are developing physically. We’re performing well. We are ready to compete in what will not be easy conditions going into the final stage of the season.”

The Blaugrana manager is more likely to play a full strength team in the match against Gary Neville’s Valencia CF, as FC Barcelona go looking for yet another treble.

“The team is feeling positive. Good morale is always important, although it’s sometimes hard to achieve,” said Enrique. “We need to analyse how each player is feeling as we go into every game. That’s an essential part of the job. As coach it is one of my responsibilities.”

Barca taking it one game at a time

Enrique also said in the post match conference that he is not thinking much about the second leg, and concentrating more on the first leg of the match.

“We always like to win the first leg and not think about the second. That’s the best way to tackle games like these,” Enrique was quoted saying in FC Barcelona’s official website.

The Catalans would be looking to put the tie in bed in the first match itself, with the support of the FC Barcelona crowd. It would be interesting to see whether Gary Neville and Valencia CF can come up with a way of stopping the Catalans.
