Arsenal FC have completed the signing for Petr Cech from Chelsea FC as the fans express their delight on social media.

The long wait is finally over for the Arsenal fans as the Gunners have now officially announced the signing of Petr Cech from their rivals Chelsea. The 33-year-old goalkeeper joins the London club after 11 successful seasons in the Premier League with the Blues.

Cech joined Chelsea in 2004 from French club Rennes and went on to win four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups and A Champions League. He is widely considered to be one of the best goalkeepers to have plied his trade in England.

Chelsea have reportedly received a fee of A?10m as the Czech international signed a four-year contract with Arsenal. Petr Cecha s decision to leave Stamford Bridge was largely due to the fact that Thibaut Courtois replaced him in the starting line-up last season. The three time Golden Glove winner was desperate for regular first team action, when Arsenal came calling.

Jose Mourinho was unwilling to sell Cech to a direct rival, but Roman Abramovich agreed to this move, as he respected Cecha s wish after his long and loyal service to the club. Cech was unwilling to move away from London and the appeal of being the number one for another top Premier League club sealed the deal.

Arsene Wenger, who has previously tried to sign Cech, before he eventually joined Chelsea, has expressed his delight at having secured his signature. The Frenchman feels that Cech will improve his team drastically in the upcoming season.

a Petr Cech is a player that I have admired for a long time and I am very pleased that he has decided to join us. He has proven over many seasons that he is one of the outstanding keepers in the world and he will add great strength to our squad.a a . The Arsenal manager told the cluba s website.

Petr Cech stated that Wengera s ambition and vision for the club convinced him to make this move to the Emirates.

a Ia m really excited about joining Arsenal Football Club and can’t wait to join up for pre-season. I have the same commitment to football, the same motivation and the same hunger for success as I had at the beginning of my career, and I love the challenges brought by the top quality players you face while playing in the Premier League. When ArsA?ne Wenger spoke to me about his ambitions for this club, and how he saw me as part of this team, the decision was clear.a a Cech was quoted as saying in Arsenala s website.

Cecha s move to Arsenal has delighted the Gooners across the world, and many believe that this could prove to be a vital addition next season. While some compared this transfer to that Pat Jennings, other stated that this shows Arsenala s growing financial power. But everyone agrees on the fact that Cech will be the first World class goalkeeper for Arsenal since David Seaman.

Cech is not “the signing who wins the league” for #afc – but it makes it far more possible that they can. Abramovich sanctioning move key

Worth noting that at A?10-11m, the transfer fee for Petr Cech is the largest-ever for a footballer over the age of 32 (HT @SimonGleave) a Jake Cohen (@JakeFCohen) June 29, 2015

Cech is world class, great attitude, experience and was cheap. Respect to Chelsea as well for letting him join the club he wanted to join.

Signing likes of Squillaci, Gervinho Chamakh to signing Alexis, Ozil & Cech. Amazing what happens when you actually have a good budget. #afc a Sam (@samuelJayC) June 29, 2015

As Terry said, Cech could well manage to win Arsenal more than 10 points. Massive boost. Been a while since Arsenal last had a WC ‘keeper.

As said last week Cech Chelsea to Arsenal on par with Pat Jennings – Spurs to Arsenal. Quality goalkeeper still at top of his game. a Darren (@DarrenArsenal1) June 29, 2015
