With speculation regarding Toni Kroos’ possible move to Manchester United gaining steam after Guardiola admitted his uncertainty over the midfielder’s future, reports suggest that Toni Kroos has decided to stay put at Bayern Munich and will take a call on his future only after the World Cup.
As reported, after contract negotiations between Toni Kroos and Bayern Munich came to a halt due to the midfielder’s wage demands, the German international had been linked with a possible move to Manchester United with David Moyes being spotted at Bayern’s fixture against Borussia Moenchengladbach last Saturday. The transfer rumour was further fuelled after Kroos stormed off the pitch against Stuggart after having been substituted by the manager. Later Pep Guardiola admitted that though the player figured importantly in his plans, he was uncertain regarding his future.
While many believed that a last-day transfer for Toni Kroos was on the cards, METRO reveals that the young midfielder has decided to stay put at Bayern Munich, opting to take a call regarding his future only after the World Cup. According to the report, the 24 year old German midfielder argued against leaving the current European champions and will take a call regarding his future only after the World Cup.
With Toni Kroos’ contract expiring in 2015, it will be interesting to see how the summer will transpire for the young attacking midfielder. Having established himself on the international stage, his contract negotiations with the club came to a halt as Bayern Munich refused to meet his increased wage demands. Though the midfielder has figured prominently in Guardiola’s campaign, the club have been reluctant to indulge the midfielder. Manchester United have been linked heavily with the player, with reports emerging that David Moyes has proposed a £25 million transfer offer for the play-maker. Though it is clear that the midfielder will not be leaving Munich before the end of this season, Manchester United will clearly have a good chance of landing the midfielder in summer if Toni Kroos’ contract negotiations continue to remain at a standstill.
Meanwhile, reports emerge that Tottenham Hotspurs have joined Inter Milan in the race to sign Nani from Manchester United.
As reported, Nani is very close to moving out of Old Trafford as the transfer window comes to a hectic close. According to reports, Inter Milan lead the race and are apparently negotiating with Manchester United over a possible move for the Portuguese winger on loan. But according to METRO, Inter Milan have found fierce rivals in Tottenham Hotspurs who are looking to strengthen their attack before the transfer window closes.
Reportedly, Tottenham Hotspurs’ manager, Tim Sherwood, has marked out Nani as an important transfer target as he looks to increase his attacking options with the season entering its crucial stage. Though Manchester United have made it clear that Nani does not figure in their immediate plans, it is not certain as to which club will get to sign the Portuguese winger from Old Trafford. While Inter Milan are offering to cover the winger’s wages while on loan, the transfer might tip in Spurs’ favour as the London side plan to include a loan-offer according to METRO.
Having been over-looked by David Moyes in favour of Janujaz, Valencia and Young, Nani has made only 8 appearnces in the league this year. With the World Cup round the corner, the Portuguese is understandably looking for a starting position and has been linked Juventus and Inter Milan before Tottenham Hotspurs joined the fray. Having let Lewis Holtby sign for Fulham, Tottenham have ‘cleared the space’ for Nani to move in. But the move remains highly doubtful as Manchester United are unlikely to add to their rival’s arsenal with the season turning extremely competitive. The transfer window closes in a couple of hours and it will be interesting which way Nani will be heading come tomorrow.
