AS Roma captain Francesco Totti claimed it is useless to advice Mario Balotelli while admiring the qualities of Stevan Jovetic.

In an interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport, Roma legend Francesco Totti reflected on a number of issues related to his career, current Serie A campaign while he also commented on Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli and also had words of praise for his potential heir Stevan Jovetic of Manchester City.

“Regarding Balotelli, every coach has his own ideas and judges what happens on and off the pitch. Advice? No, it’s pointless. Everybody gave him some advice, but he doesn’t listen to anybody,” said Totti.

Nearing the end of a glorious career Totti feels he is ready to continue for some more years but sets his sight on training the primavera squads.

“I was talking about it with a friend of mine the other day, and I said: ‘Everybody is doing that, I will end up doing that too.’ Maybe I’ll start with the kids, but maybe that’s not necessary. Who played at my level doesn’t need a long time to learn. Is Jovetic my heir? He’s the one who have the right characteristics, even though carrying the no.10 in Rome is difficult.”

Roberto Mancini recently returned to Inter Milan to take up the managerial post. Totti feels that he is the right man to guide the Nerazurri at this juncture.

“It surprised me, I didn’t think he would return at Inter. At the beginning, I thought they could have been the third force of the league. I’m surprised because Roberto prefers to work in the summer with the group, but I’m happy, because he’s a good coach and a good person.”

Totti had been part of two humiliating losses in his career against Manchester United and Bayern Munich (both 7-1 defeats) admitting the defeat against the English club hurts him more.

“The 7-1 against Manchester United hurts me the most. I didn’t see that coming. We had won comfortably at home, I thought we could reach the semfinals and instead we entered history in that way. I knew that we could lose against Bayern, but certainly not in that fashion. And Neuer is a phenomenon.”

Finally he spoke about Roma’s objectives this season in Italy and Europe.”We’re stronger than in the past season, we aim at winning. Garcia says that, we need to prove it. Napoli is the third strongest team.”
