He has worked tirelessly.” “But we have other players training hard and working hard and we will turn to them. Liverpool FC Manager Brendan Rodgers Hits Back Over Raheem Sterling Criticism

Brendan Rodgers insists that Liverpool did not pressurize Roy Hodgson to rest Raheem Sterling last weekend. Speaking to The Independent Rodgers said: “I’m fed up reading about this club v country row, claims we intervened and put pressure on Roy Hodgson.I’ve read we sent dossiers to the FA on Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge and I’m having showdown talks with Roy Hodgson on Sunday and all sorts of rubbish.” “The decision not to play him was a managerial decision. I haven’t said a single word but have to say I have never seen such rubbish written over the last few days. At no point did Raheem Sterling say he didn’t want to play for England. The boy is being hung out to dry and I dare say the criticism will continue for a few more weeks to come because of this.” Rodgers claimed previously there were a number of occasions at Liverpool when Sterling had revealed the fact that he […] Read more »

The Liverpool and Italy striker spoke to reporters about his topsy-turvy career so far, dealing with constant media scrutiny and said he will only “start to think I need to change something about myself” when kids ignore him. In an exclusive interview with talkSport, Balotelli said: “Every morning, when I wake up, I think that maybe yesterday people are speaking bad things about me. But then I see kids coming up to me, like today, and I think I’m not doing that bad. I could do better – of course, I could do way better – but kids are natural, they are honest. If they look at you and don’t like you, they don’t come up to you.” “So if I see them always coming up to me, then it means I can’t be that bad, either as a footballer or a person. When kids stop asking for my autograph or a picture or whatever, then maybe I will start […] Read more »

Roy Hodgson Feud With Liverpool Manager Brendan Rodgers Escalates Over Raheem Sterling

England boss Roy Hodgson’s tense relationship with Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers looks set to continue in the wake of the controversy surrounding Raheem Sterling’s fitness. Roy Hodgson has risked inflaming his simmering feud with Brendan Rodgers by questioning the Liverpool manager’s method of keeping Raheem Sterling fit. Rodgers revealed last month that he believes in giving players, whose primary attribute is pace, a two-day recovery period from the stresses and strains caused by the speed. However, Hodgson says there is little evidence that this program benefits the recovery of an individual. “Raheem might say it is something that is becoming ingrained in him and that he felt the need to talk about being tired more than he would normally do.” Hodgson said. “We have never had any problems with that [Liverpool’s policy] but I don’t think there is a lot of medical evidence to support the two-day recovery so, if you want to, you might want to research that.” “Certainly […] Read more »
