QPR manager Harry Redknapp is planning a raid on his former employers Tottenham Hotspur for the signing of England duo Michael Dawson and Andros Townsend.

Newly promoted QPR are planning it big to secure their Premier League status in the long run. Experienced manager Harry Redknapp is planning to sign a number of his former wards in Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole, Scott Parker along with Gareth Barry and Steve Sidwell. All of the above mentioned names have rich experience in English Premier League and are available on a free transfer.

Along with the free agents, QPR think tank are also eyeing attainable targets from other Premier League clubs. Tottenham Hotspur duo of Michael Dawson and Andros Townsend tops the wish-list of QPR management, as they prepare for Premier League survival. Manager Harry Redknapp is familiar with the Tottenham players and the trio enjoys a good working relationship which adds more steel to the news.

Tottenham’s new manager Mauricio Pochettino is expected to play a high intensity game  which puts Spurs captain Michael Dawson’s future in doubt. Michael Dawson’s lack of pace was one of the reasons behind the heavy drubbings suffered by Tottenham last season, and the Argentine is expected to push him to the periphery of things.

QPR are long term admirers of England International Michael Dawson. QPR nearly completed a move for him 2012 as both the clubs agreed a £9 million move for the player. Tottenham skipper refused to move on and fought for his place at White Hart Lane that time. Michael Dawson is a typical English defender who puts his body into the firing line, and QPR will be needing a lot of that for Premier League survival. He is also a proven leader and that is also expected to come handy for the West Londoners.

Along with the capture of Michael Dawson, QPR are also eyeing dynamic winger Andros Townsend in a season long loan deal. Andros Townsend is also a target of Everton and Newcastle United, but QPR holds the trump card in Harry Redknapp. It was Harry Redknapp and his QPR side, that announced the arrival of England winger Andros Townsend in the second half of 2012-13 season. He was on loan that time and was the most influential and threatening player for QPR. Andros Townsend was expected to build his Tottenham career from that performance. But after a good start, his career has stalled and another loan move is the need of the hour to restart his career.

Michael Dawson and Andros Townsend looks surplus to the Requirements at Tottenham Hotspur. In QPR they will be the main players and in Harry Redknapp they have a man manager who can get the best out of their abilities. Are we going to witness Michael Dawson and Andros Townsend dancing to the tunes of Harry Redknapp once again?
