Newly promoted QPR are targeting a host of experienced Premier League campaigners in Rio Ferdinand, Gareth Barry, Scott Parker, Joe Cole and Steve Sidwell.
QPR’s ambitions suffered a major dent when they were relegated to Championship in 2012-13 season. Harry Redknapp side earned their way back in English Premier League after a hard earned play-off win over Derby this season. Tony Fernandes co-owned side are planning a longer stay at the top flight and has the financial backing to move their way up in Premier League.
QPR made a mockery of finances in their attempt to stay up during 2012-13 season. They had a vast array of players to choose from, but they failed to produce the goods. This was a learning experience for Tony Fernandes, and The Rangers are planning another ambitious attempt to stay afloat in 2014-15 season. QPR believes that they are smarter and wiser this time around to achieve Premier League safety.
QPR Manager Harry Redknapp has the experience and know-how to match the clubs ambitions. QPR are ready to meet his demands and needs for players, and are lining up a number of experienced Premier League campaigners.
Manchester United’s legendary defender Rio Ferdinand is one of the primary targets of QPR revolution. Manager Harry Redknapp is seen as a mentor by Rio Ferdinand. The duo had worked together in West Ham United, and it was Harry who handed the début for Rio Ferdinand. Rio Ferdinand is set to become a free agent after his 12-year association with Manchester United ending in summer. The good relationship between Harry and his ward, is expected to land Rio Ferdinand at West London, ahead of his other suitors.
QPR are targeting other notable free agents to improve their squad strength for Premier League survival. Gareth Barry, Manchester City player who enjoyed a brilliant season on loan at Everton, is another target of Harry Redknapp’s QPR. Gareth Barry will also become a free agent in summer and there is a bidding war expected between Arsenal, Everton and QPR for the England internationals signature.
Harry Redknapp is also planning to reunite with another ward in Fulham’s Scott Parker. QPR are in-fact planning to reunite Scott Parker and Steve Sidwell at Loftus Road ahead of next season. QPR are attempting to reunite Free Agent Joe Cole with manager Harry Redknapp, and the summer is going out to be a long one for Tony Fernandez and co.
The likes of Adel Taraabt, Stephan Mbia, Loic Remy, Esteban Granero might be sold by QPR, while the futures of Rob Green, Bobby Zamora, Andy Johnson etc. are also in doubt. Even though mass changes are expected at Loftus Road, the arrival of Rio Ferdinand, Gareth Barry, Scott Parker etc. can lead QPR to a brighter future.
