Liverpool face competition from Serie A club Chievo, but Liverpool edge out the Italian side as Badu himself said that he wouldn’t turn down the chance to sign for the Premier League giants, despite being settled in Italy:
“We played against Liverpool in the Europa League last year so I know all about them. They are a really good team who have been performing well this season and I would be very happy to join them. I’m settled in Italy but the chance to play for such a big club is something I couldn’t pass up”.

Liverpool badly need a strong defensive midfielder. The club’s present option, Lucas Leiva has not performed very well this season and has been just about average. The Premier League club needs a cover to the Brazilian and are in need for depth in that department of the game.
The 23 year old has constantly been improving at Udinese and is now a key player for the Serie A club protecting their defence in his midfield role. At Udinese, he has become renowned for his pace and strength, and also his ability to break up attacks and launch counter attacks. Badu would also be able to provide more competition in the midfield department and keep the Liverpool players on their toes.
In the losses to Chelsea and Manchester City, Liverpool’s sloppy defending was clearly evident. In fact, a defensive error is almost always the reason for Liverpool conceding goals. The various additions in the summer in the defensive department have not completely helped the cause. Badu could help remedy that and provide the much needed protection in the heart of the pitch and help the club control the game in the centre.
