Spanish giants FC Barcelona are ready to outbid Arsenal in order to sign Javi Martinez with a A?30million-plus bid for the Bayern Munich defender cum midfielder at the end of the season.
English newspaper Daily Mail has reported today that since it will be very difficult of lure Tiago Silva, their primary target, away from Paris Saint Germain, Barca management have turned their attention towards Martinez who is reportedly unsettled at Allianz Arena.
Recent reports in the English media have linked Arsenal with a move for Martinez but the entry of Barcelona is a bad news for Gunners as ex Athletic Bilbao star will naturally prefer to play in his home country.
Defense is the area of biggest concern for current Barca squad. Captain Carles Puyol is retiring at the end of the season and Garrard Pique is continuously facing a hip problem since past few months.
