Bayern Munich has secured the signing of Spain’s rising star Juan Bernat in a 5-year deal. Versatile left winger moved to Germany as a free agent at the end of his Valencia contract.

21-year-old Juan Bernat, a product of Valencia’s youth academy, has progressed through the Spain’s U-16, U-17, U-19, U-20 and U-21 squads before making his mark in the Valencia set-up. The versatile left footed player is capable of playing as a left back or as a left winger. Juan Bernat made his La Liga debut in 2011-12 season and made 10 appearances for the Los Che’s that season. After another bit part season, Juan Bernat became an integral part of Valencia set-up in 2013-14 season.

Th Spanish youngster made a total of 49 appearances last season. He was one of the best performers for Valencia in a disappointing season, and his performances caught the attention of scouts world wide. It was last season that the left footed player showed his versatility by playing as a defender and winger at the top level.

Even though Valencia tried to extend his contract by offering improved terms, it wasn’t rewarding enough for his performances. German Bundelsiga champions Bayern Munich jumped at the opportunity sign a promising youngster and secured Juan Bernat’s signature in a 5-year deal.

Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer announced his signing through the clubs official website.

“Juan Bernat is an extraordinary young player. We scouted him for a long time. He is fast, a strong tackler and a real threat to the opposition’s goal. We are sure that he will prove a very good investment in terms of the future of our team.”

Bayern Munich are expected to part ways with Switzerland winger Xherdan Shaqiri. English Premier League runners up Liverpool are keen on signing the Bayern Munich winger, and he is expected to leave the Bundesliga giants in search of regular playing time. The signing of Valencia youngster Juan Bernat is expected to speed up the exit of Shaqiri, who is coming after a good FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Bayern Munich have done well to secure a replacement well in advance. Juan Bernat on the other hand will get to learn the tricks from one of the best in the business. Wingers and attacking midfielders of the highest caliber are available in the form of Arjen Robben, Frank Ribery, Thomas Muller, Mario Goetze etc. in Bayern Munich ranks. Bayern Munich has a manager who has worked with developing Spanish talents before. Juan Bernat is excited to join the Bundesliga champions and to work under the tutelage of former Barcelona manager – Joseph Guardiola.

Bayern Munich have wrapped up the deal for one of the exciting youngsters in Spain. To get a player with huge talent and potential on a free transfer seems to be coup for the Bundesliga champions and Juan Bernat will be eager to make a break through in this star studded line-up.
