Transfers, transfers and more transfers. Below are the latest top stories on players who could be on the move.
Belfodil Opens Inter Door
Ishak Belfodil has revealed that he would be open to making the switch to the Nerazzurri. The former Lyon striker has shown the kind of promise that would trigger interest from Serie A’s top clubs.
“Parma and Inter are talking as we speak, everyone knows that,” he told fcinternews.it.
“I have told my agent to only call me when there is something certain, and I have still not heard anything.
“Inter are a big club, even though they had a tough season last time.
“Who would not like to play for them?”
THT Verdict: Likely. Belfodil should make the jump to Inter. With the possibility of Cassano vacating the San Siro, Belfodil will be viewed as his replacement. Although not exactly in the same mould as FantAntonio, Belfodil is one for the future and will provide decent enough cover for Diego Milito and Rodrigo Palacio.
Bayern Munich Confirm Gomez Will Be Present At Pre-Season
Representatives of German powerhouses, Bayern Munich, have stated that Mario Gomez will join the club in their pre-season training. The German International is not thought to fit in with new coach Pep Guardiola’s philosophy. Rumors about an exit from Munich have been doing the rounds for quite some time now with Fiorentina mooted as a possible target.
“Gomez belongs to us,” new Coach Pep Guardiola said at his official presentation on Monday. “He is a Bayern player right now and I’ll treat him like one.”
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Bayern’s chief noted: “He will be present at the club’s first training session of the season.”
THT Verdict: It’s clear that Gomez will be present at the club’s pre-season training yet the representatives have offered no confirmation that he will be part of the new campaign. A move away from Die Roten looks probable and Fiorentina could be the destination. The Tuscan based outfit though, have to raise funds for the move and can only do so once they sell Stevan Jovetic. Gomez will make a fine addition to Fiorentina and indeed will be a major coup for the Viola should they manage to pull it off.
Honda To Leave CSKA Moscow?
Japanese International, Keisuke Honda, has invited the opportunity to move away from his current club. Honda, who had an impressive Confederations Cup, spoke about moving to a big club and playing alongside great players.
“I do not know what my next step will be,” he told the Japan Times. “But I have the opportunity to play for a big club.
“In August I’ll know what the future holds.
“All I know at the moment is that if I do go to a top club, then I will become better as a player.
“Playing with great players would be good for my growth.”
THT Verdict: Milan and Lazio are touted as possible destinations for the play-maker. Milan have had Honda on their radar for quite a while and may launch a bid for the 27 year old. However, his price tag will have escalated after his excellent outings in Brazil. Whether Milan offer the amount CSKA will demand is left to be seen but he would represent a very good buy for the Rossoneri.
