Agent of Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has stated that the Spaniard will remain at the Merseyside club despite all the rumours.
Among the on-going Luis Suarez transfer saga, this will come across as fantastic news for the Liverpool fans. Pepe Reina was heavily linked with a move away from, Anfield this summer, with Barcelona and Napoli reportedly interested in signing him.
Barcelona are in the transfer market for a new goalkeeper as Victor Valdes is set to leave the club after rejecting a contract extension. The 30-year-old, who started his footballing career at Barcelona before being sold to Villarreal in 2002, is said to be at the top of Barcelonaai??i??s wish list this summer. In fact Victor Valdes publicly revealed that his ai???good friendai??i?? Reina could be his replacement at the club.

Pepe Reina also added fuel to the above speculations when he said (back in May) that he will find it difficult to say no to Barcelona if they come in with an offer. But the Spanish international released a statement few days back, where he claimed that his future remains at Liverpool.
“I have my own contract with Liverpool for three more years. Nothing has changed.
“If so, we want to make it bigger and my future is with Liverpool.
“Right now, aboutAi??Barca, there are only rumors and only people talking about possibilities. There are no facts. I cannot talk further on that.” ai??i?? The Liverpool goalkeeper was quoted in press.
Now in another statement his representative, Manuel Garcia Quilon, has quashed all the rumours linking him to Barcelona and Napoli.
“Reina has been clear in recent days his thoughts, his future is still at Liverpool.
“At the moment there are no chances for Napoli and Barcelona.
“Pepe considers Benitez a great coach but his future will still be at Anfield” ai??i?? Garcia Quilon was quited in press.
Liverpool were linked with Simon Mignolet and Asmir Begovic, who also reciprocated his interest in joining the club, as the Merseyside club prepared for life without Reina, but this last statement from his agent might very well mean that the Spaniard is staying back the club after-all.
