Liverpool FC striker Luis Suarez to hold talks at the end of the season, while the Merseyside club have been linked with a move for PSG playmaker Javier Pastore.

Luis Suarez: Liverpool can't afford to sell him to Arsenal

Luis Suarez has been in the headlines all throughout the summer regarding his uncertain future at the club and a possible move away from Anfield. But Liverpool managed to hold on to their prized asset and the Uruguayan international returned to first team action (after serving his 10-match suspension) against Manchester United in the League Cup. But there are still doubts about how long Liverpool would be able to hold on to Suarez, considering how vocal he was about his desire to leave during the transfer window.

Suarez has revealed that he would discuss about his future at the club at the end of the season after a ‘difficult summer’. The forward also seems confident about Liverpool’s squad this season and has hoped that he can continue his growth as a player.

“It was an unusual and difficult summer concerning the chances of Liverpool selling me.

“My future? I’ll speak again at the end of the season. Now I am back and my dream is for us to improve on last season and fight for trophies. We have a good squad and have opened the season well after a difficult summer.” – The Liverpool striker told the press.

Luis Suarez’s current contract runs till 2018, but there is a possibility of Liverpool offering him a better contract in order to secure his future. Meanwhile, the Merseyside club has also been linked with PSG playmaker Javier Pastore.

Pastore was one of the first big name signing made by the French club after the injection of cash from their owners. He joined PSG back in 2011 in a big money move and has already gone on to make 90 appearances for the club. But the Argentine international’s future in Paris has come under a lot of speculation this season.

New manager Laurent Blanc, who took over at the club after the departure of Carlo Ancelotti this summer, is said to be unimpressed with Pastore’s contribution to the side and could be prepared to sell the midfielder if the right offer comes in this winter. Pastore’s agent has also hinted that the 24-year-old is currently unhappy at the French club, but would wait a bit longer before making a decision on his future.

“He has been happy there, but now is not the time for nostalgia. We will see what happens in the next few months.” – Pastore’s agent told the press.

Liverpool are reportedly monitoring this situation in Paris and are lining up a move for Pastore in the winter transfer window. Brendan Rodgers is reportedly still in the market for an attacking midfielder and a marquee signing after missing out on Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Diego Costa and Willian last summer. Pastore will be a fantastic addition to the Liverpool squad, but it is yet to be seen if they will be able to meet PSG’s demands.
