21. Mohammedan Sporting Club looking forward to Santhosh Kashyap to manage their campaign

Santhosh Kashyap has been been in demand after his impressive reign in ONGC. Earlier Santhosh Kashyap was rumoured to be shortlisted for a job in AIFF developmental side Pailan Arrows. This has promted Mohammedan Sporting club to act quickly to land one of the excellent managers available in Indian Football. Santhosh Kashyap had previous coaching experience in Kolkata with Mohun Bagan and he knows how passionate the Bengalis are about football. Mohammedan Sporting Club are also linked with a number of ONGC players and if we link both the stories, there is definitely something beyond rumours.

THT Verdict: Possible

22. Sporting Club de Goa’s Adil Khan joins Mohun Bagan AC

Sporting Club de Goa’s versatile defensive midfielder Adil Ahmed Khan signed a one year contract with Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan for I-League 13/14 campaign. Adil khan was impressed by the way in which Mohun Bagan fought back from zero points to achieve safety in I-League. If rumours are to be believed Karim Bencharifa registered an interest in the player 3 years back when he was in charge of the mariners and this time around he acted quickly without missing the trick. Versatile player can slot in at defence as well as midfield and he is expected to play a crucial squad role for Mohun Bagan in their campaign next season.

THT Verdict: Confirmed

23. Eelco Shattorie determined to stay at Prayag United SC

Prayag United SC finished in Top 4 after spending huge chunks of money on players. Even though they bought all the stars available and prepared a star studded team capable of bringing trophies home, they had to settle for IFA Shield. They do not possess the extravagant money anymore as Kolkata clubs are affected by Chit fund scams and funds available are pretty limited. It remains to be seen whether Prayag United will be able to afford their stars next season as most of them are looking forward to greener pastures. Shattorie believes that Prayag United can get out of this in good way and can continue building the team. He also assured that whatever happens, he will stay with Prayag and will try to make a good team for the next campaign.

THT Verdict: Confirmed

24. Mohammedans Sporting Club chasing Wahid Sali’s signature.

Wahid Sali played a crucial role for ONGC under Santhosh Kashyap and it’s no wonder that Mohammedan Sporting are looking for his signature. Along with coach Santhosh Kashyap and fellow Keralite Rehnesh TP, defender Wahid Sali is one of the many ONGC players linked with a switch to Kolkata. With a new consortium from Kerala likely to grab a corporate entry into the I-League, the Keralites in I-League are soon going to be in demand and it will be interesting to see how it unfolds in the end for Wahid Sali. Kerala born Defender had a decent campaign in I-league and the number of interests are going to increase as the time moves on.

THT Verdict: Unlikely

25. Kingshuk Debnath set to return to Mohun Bagan AC

Kingshuk Debnath had played a crucial role for Mohun Bagan in their 2010-11 campaign and had played a crucial role for Mohammedan Sporting Club in their I-League qualification from second division. His impressive performances in I-League Division Two had forced Mohun Bagan to rethink about their former player. Financial constraints are also another aspect which makes sense to sign a player who can do a decent squad job for the big fish from Kolkata. It remains to be seen the how the deal progresses as Mohun Bagan is waiting to finish their Calcutta League before analysing and planning for next seasons campaign.

THT Verdict: Possible
