81. East Bengal releases striker Robin Singh.
Kolkata giants East Bengal has decided to part ways with misfiring striker Robin Singh. Robin Singh had a poor campaign last season which is reflected by his goal tally of 3. The problematic striker is still in demand even after his release from East Bengal and it is rumoured to believe that Churchill Brothers, Salgaocar SC and Dempo SC are chasing his signature. Even though some quarters rates the Indian International very highly for footballing abilities, he needs massive improvement with his first touch to succeed in top level. He still remains an unpredictable player, but the interest in him is bound to increase due to the lack of quality strikers.

82. Karim Bencharifa has agreed to lead Mohun Bagan’s charge next season
Mohun Bagan AC Coach Karim Bencharifa has agreed to continue with the club on a reduced salary for next season. The Moroccan coach, had done reasonably well to revive the team after their poor start and Kolkata derby melee. In the middle of a financial crisis, it will be a welcome news for Mohun Bagan officials as Bencharifa has agreed in principal for a reduced deal. The coach need to get the mariners back on track with not less than a title challenge next season as their large fan base had a disappointing year last time.

83. Sporting Club de Goa midfielder Pratesh Shirodkar is a target of Mohun Bagan
Mohun Bagan had identified their midfield as one of the weak spots and are trying to rope in quality Indian players to help their case. After the departure of Jewel Raja Sheikh, they are counting their money on Nicholas Rodriguez and Pratesh Shirdokar. Sporting Club de Goa midfielder Pratesh ShirodkarAi??was impressive in last year’s I-League campaign. Ai??24-year old midfielder played a vital role in Sporting’s revival in new year and he is a bright prospect for the future as well. He had appeared 24 times for the flaming orange’s last time around and will consider the move to Mohun Bagan as a step up in his ambitious career.

Johny Meyongar was signed from Shillong Lajong in winter to address their striking woes, but the Liberian striker also failed miserably to find a solution.
