Premier League giants Liverpool are looking to strengthen their midfield with the signing of Marcelo Brozovic, a target for Manchester United.

According to a report from Fichajes, Liverpool want to sign Marcelo Brozovic in the 2023 summer transfer window. The Croatian international is also a target for Manchester United over a possible move at the end of the ongoing season.

The 29-year-old has firmly established himself as one of the best midfielders in Serie A, and he was a key player for Inter Milan when they won the Scudetto in 2021.

Brozovic has recently signed a contract extension with the Serie A club which will keep him at San Siro until the summer of 2026. However, Inter Milan are under financial pressure, and they would be keen on selling the player for the right price.

It is no secret that Liverpool need to bring in midfield reinforcements, and the 29-year-old defensive midfielder could prove to be a quality acquisition. The likes of Thiago Alcantara and Naby Keita have had their fair share of injury problems, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has spent most of his Liverpool career on the sidelines.

On the other hand, the likes of Jordan Henderson and James Milner are not getting any younger. These are desperate times for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool, and it remains to be seen whether they can strengthen the central midfield significantly at the end of the season. The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for Jude Bellingham as well.

The report adds that Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are keeping tabs on the Croatian international midfielder as well, and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool can fend off the competition and secure his services this summer.

The opportunity to showcase his qualities in the Premier League with an illustrious club like Liverpool or Manchester United could be a tempting proposition for Brozovic and agreeing on personal terms with the player should not be a problem for either team.

However, Brozovic has a long-term contract with Inter Milan, and the Serie A club could decide to demand a premium for his services. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool, Manchester United or PSG can convince them to accept a reasonable fee for their prized asset next summer.
