Torino rejected an offer from West Ham United for full-back Ola Aina, and there are doubts whether the Hammers will return with another offer.

According to Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth, West Ham United have seen a bid worth €8 million for Ola Aina knocked back by Torino. The former Chelsea right-back’s contract with the Italian side expires next year as the Hammers continue to consider returning with a new bid.

David Moyes wants one or two additions before the window shuts and is targetting a right-back to solve defensive issues. The Hammers are not particularly short in the areas but are bereft of different options, as the current players are not offering much on the attacking side.

Vladimir Coufal and Ben Johnson have shared playing time from right-back this season, but both have underwhelmed so far. The Hammers lost the opening three games and have since managed one win and a draw, keeping them at the bottom of the table.

Moyes signed Emerson from Chelsea last week and continues his search for a new right-back to shore up the defensive ranks. He identified Torino’s former Chelsea full-back, Ola Aina, as a cost-effective option.

The defender is in the last year of his deal with the Serie A side, with the Italians open to selling him. However, they have knocked back an offer from West Ham worth €8 million today, but they are expected to be available for a renewed proposal.

The Hammers offered €4 million guarantees and the other €4 million in add-ons. Torino are not willing to accept the offer, although there are doubts whether West Ham will return with an improved bid.

No other players are linked today for the position, although a few reports insisted Manchester United refused to agree on a deal for Aaron Wan Bissaka. The Hammers may consider Aina a cost-effective option, and there is a slight chance of them returning to Italy with another offer.

As things stand, Moyes will be somewhat pleased with the club’s transfer business this summer. He saw late moves for Emerson and Lucas Paqueta while signing Thilo Kehrer, Nayef Aguerd and Gianluca Scamacca earlier in the window.
