Ajax have rejected Manchester United’s latest bid worth €90 million for Antony, leaving the Brazilian disappointed as he continues to push for a move.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Ajax have incredibly rejected a mammoth €90 million bid from Manchester United for their top target Antony. The Brazilian winger opened up on his disappointment with the Dutch side and remains keen on joining the Red Devils before the transfer deadline.

Manchester United’s chase of Antony rumbles on as the Premier League giants are yet to find a viable agreement with Ajax for the Brazilian winger. The 22-year-old remains Erik ten Hag’s top target, but the club cannot break the will of the Dutch outfit.

Manchester United have seen at least two to three big offers rejected for their top target by Ajax so far, and relationships between the two clubs remain on edge. There have been several discussions between the two clubs, but none have resulted in an agreement so far.

Ajax rejected a mammoth €80 million offer earlier, as they insisted Antony was not for sale. However, the player has since been pushing for a move to Old Trafford, as Ajax continued discussions with Manchester United.

Manchester United submitted a €90 million bid, hoping to finalise the move. But Ajax have once more rejected the proposal, as they might be seeking a higher fee. The understanding is that they are seeking at least €100 million for Antony and have pointed toward many factors.

For starters, Ajax may point towards the time left in the window to bring in a replacement. However, Antony is pushing for a move and recently revealed plenty in an exclusive interview with Fabrizio Romano. He thanked the Ajax fans and insisted he was ready to move on to a new challenge.

Manchester United will return to the drawing board and likely figure out a way to appease Ajax, having already agreed on personal terms with Antony. There is less time left in the window as things stand, which shrinks rapidly.

With the player keen and publicly urging Ajax to let him leave, the Dutch outfit are seemingly taking a considerable risk in this transfer saga. While widespread reports suggest, discussions continue between the clubs, although it’s unclear whether Manchester United will return with a fresh bid.

In that case, Ajax would have ended up turning down a mammoth offer for a player who will be left unhappy for the season ahead. Whether they will get offers around €90 million next summer remains to be seen, although Manchester United hopes to conclude the transfer in the next few days.

Ajax want a replacement, whilst United will want to send Elanga on loan. Can Elanga on loan for the season not be a sweetener?
