Crystal Palace are reportedly making a strong push to secure the signing of Watford forward and Leeds United target Ismaila Sarr.

According to Foot Mercato, Crystal Palace are stepping up their efforts to secure the signing of Watford and Senegal forward Ismaila Sarr, who is also a transfer target for Leeds United.

Sarr’s time at Vicarage Road could be coming to an end three years after he signed from Rennes. During this time, the 24-year-old has easily been one of Watford’s best players, racking up a tally of 25 goals and 19 assists from 95 matches. He has scored and assisted one goal apiece in three games already in the ongoing season.

Sarr has proven himself at the Premier League level and could now be offered a swift return to the top flight as multiple clubs are pushing to sign him this summer. There have been rumours of interest from the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool, but it is Crystal Palace and Leeds United, who seem to be pushing hard for his signing currently.

Crystal Palace are eager to strengthen their attacking options this summer. The Eagles have parted ways with Christian Benteke and are sweating over the future of Wilfried Zaha, who is being linked with a move to Chelsea. Even if the Ivorian stays, Patrick Vieira’s side could use added depth in attack, given that the likes of Jordan Ayew and Odsonne Edouard are not entirely prolific options.

As for Leeds United, they are still scouring the market for a quality replacement for Raphinha, who has left the club for Barcelona this summer. While the Whites did sign Luis Sinisterra, manager Jesse Marsch seemingly remains intent on adding another wide player, even though a centre-forward should be a bigger priority for the club.

Sarr can function on the wing and through the middle which could make him a viable option for Leeds. However, as per the report, Crystal Palace are ready to up the ante in their pursuit of the 24-year-old Senegalese international to beat their competitors to his signing.

Sarr still has two years left on his current contract with Watford, who are open to cashing in on the attacker. A return to the Premier League seems imminent for the Senegalese speedster, and what remains to be seen is if Crystal Palace beat Leeds United to his signing or if a different club swoop in to land him.
