Aston Villa and Everton are reportedly interested in landing out-of-favour Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele in the ongoing transfer window.

According to a report by French outlet Foot Mercato, Tanguy Ndombele continues to attract several clubs across Europe despite being out of favour at Tottenham. Aston Villa and Everton are showing interest in the French midfielder, who will depart from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the ongoing transfer window.

Tanguy Ndombele became Tottenham’s club-record signing when he joined the north London club from Lyon in July 2019. But the 25-year-old has failed to live up to the billing, struggling to be a consistent performer for Tottenham in the last three years. A loan move back at Lyon in the second half of the 2021/22 season did not work either.

The French international does not feature in Antonio Conte’s plans, with the Italian tactician ruling him out of contention almost as soon as he arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Ndombele, who has ten goals and nine assists in 91 appearances for Tottenham, is now on the exit trail at the north London club, with Aston Villa and Everton his latest suitors.

Aston Villa and Everton have already bolstered their respective midfield units this summer, with Boubacar Kamara arriving at Villa Park and Amadou Onana joining the Toffees. But both clubs seem intent on reinforcing their midfield departments further this summer.

The Villans have shown interest in Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley. But Ndombele might be a more viable candidate to bolster the Aston Villa midfield with his ability to influence proceedings in the final third. As for Everton, the Merseyside outfit can do with a versatile midfielder after signing Onana.

But several defensive midfielders, including Mohamed Camara, have emerged on Everton’s radar, with Ndombele a different profile altogether. The Tottenham midfielder is an option worth considering for the Toffees and Aston Villa, with his experience in the Premier League making him an attractive option.

In addition to Aston Villa and Everton, Villarreal and Napoli are also keen on signing Ndombele. With Tottenham ready to cash in on the 25-year-old midfielder, it will be interesting to see if he remains in the Premier League or joins a foreign club instead.
