Chelsea outcast Kenedy is reportedly on the transfer radar of La Liga minnows Cadiz over a possible move in the ongoing transfer window.

According to Mundo Deportivo, La Liga minnows Cadiz are keeping tabs on Chelsea outcast Kenedy, who has been on the fringes of the west London club’s squad for the past several seasons. The 26-year-old wide man has just a year remaining on his contract with the Blues but could be set to depart on yet another loan move this summer.

Formerly of Fluminense, Kenedy moved to Chelsea in the 2015 summer transfer window but has since failed to cement a spot in the west London club’s first squad. The Brazilian wide man was first sent on a six-month-long loan move to Watford in 2016, but it was not a successful stint and he returned to Chelsea after making just one appearance for the Hornets.

Kenedy then spent a year at Chelsea before joining Newcastle United on a loan deal that lasted 15 months. The 26-year-old made a total of 39 appearances for the Magpies, scoring and assisting three goals each across all competitions. Even after a successful spell with Newcastle, Kenedy was not drafted into the first team and was shipped off to Getafe for a season.

The Brazilian was impressive again, playing 27 matches for the Spanish club across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing five assists. Another loan spell in Spain followed, this time at Granada, where the Chelsea wide man made 44 appearances, finding the back of the net eight times while providing six assists in the process.

The left midfielder then returned to his home country to play for Flamengo, where he featured in 17 matches, registering a goal and an assist each. Kenedy returned to the west London club in January earlier this year but is set to remain a fringe player in Thomas Tuchel’s squad and could thus be on the move away from Chelsea again.

Cadiz have emerged as a potential destination, with the Spanish club said to be keen on getting him on loan. Valencia have also been linked with the Brazilian wide man, whereas Botafogo were also previously interested in signing him. It will be interesting to see if Kenedy returns to La Liga as he looks set to leave Chelsea temporarily again.
