Leicester City are interested in Callum Hudson-Odoi, although the move may not be connected to Chelsea’s interest in Wesley Fofana.

According to CBS’s Ben Jacobs, Leicester City might consider making a move for Callum Hudson-Odoi, with the Chelsea attacker’s long-term future seemingly undecided. The reliable reporter has also claimed that any possible deal could be separate from Chelsea’s pursuit of French defender Wesley Fofana.

The transfer market is gaining momentum as we enter the last month of the window. There are plenty of deals to be done, as some of the top clubs in the Premier League are getting into top gear to bring in recruits.

Surprisingly, Leicester City have not made a single signing in the summer transfer window thus far, although that could change once they start pursuing necessary targets. One of them could be Callum Hudson-Odoi, with the winger’s Chelsea future undecided.

With two years left on his deal at the west London club, Hudson-Odoi will have to make a firm decision on his future. Despite being given plenty of chances by Thomas Tuchel, the attacker underwhelmed on many occasions in Chelsea colours.

The arrival of Raheem Sterling could further reduce his influence and may shorten his playing time in the coming season. Hence Leicester City’s interest may not be ignored by Hudson-Odoi, who would be eager for regular game time in the new season.

However, much will depend on Leicester’s offer for the attacker. Ben Jacobs also clarifies that any deal for Hudson-Odoi will be separate and may not be included in Chelsea’s efforts to sign Wesley Fofana. The Foxes have already rejected two bids from the west Londoners, with the most recent one amounting to £70 million.

With Fofana keen on joining Chelsea, Leicester could be resigned to losing him if an offer of their liking arrives. Meanwhile, they could ponder making an offer for Hudson-Odoi and leverage the fact that he has two years left on his Chelsea deal.

Chelsea are looking for attacking reinforcements, and although they have not placed Hudson-Odoi on their transfer list, he could soon find himself there if another player is to join in the coming days. Hudson-Odoi made 26 appearances in all competitions last season for Chelsea, scoring thrice and providing five assists. Those contributions are not deemed good enough by many, but there is still plenty of hope for the player to improve.
