Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang reportedly has no interest in leaving the club amidst interest from Premier League giants Chelsea.

According to Roger Torello of Mundo Deportivo, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has no desire to leave Barcelona just six months after arriving at Camp Nou amid reported interest from Chelsea this summer.

Aubameyang secured a transfer to Barcelona during the winter transfer window, joining the Blaugrana on a free transfer after Arsenal terminated his contract and let him walk out. Despite enduring a rough patch during his final months at the Emirates, the 33-year-old hit the ground running at Camp Nou and finished the season with 13 goals and an assist from 23 matches for the Catalans.

In the process, Aubameyang helped Barcelona achieve a second-place finish in La Liga and even ended the campaign as the club’s joint top-scorer alongside Memphis Depay. Despite his accomplishments in his debut campaign with Barcelona, the former Arsenal captain will now have to accept a reduced role in the squad ahead of the upcoming season.

That is because Barcelona have secured the signing of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich this summer, and the Poland captain is certain to become the first-choice No. 9 for the Blaugrana. Hoping to capitalise on the situation, Chelsea have now cast admiring glances toward Aubameyang as they seek attacking reinforcements this summer.

Chelsea have already let Romelu Lukaku return to Inter Milan this summer, while Timo Werner could be headed back to RB Leipzig imminently. With Michy Batshuayi also exit-bound and question marks lingering over the future of Armando Broja, Chelsea are in desperate need of at least one new striker this summer, despite signing the versatile Raheem Sterling.

The west Londoners are keeping tabs on Benjamin Sesko of Red Bull Salzburg, but Manchester United seem to be leading the race for the 19-year-old, having already held talks with the Austrian club over a transfer. It has forced Chelsea to turn to Aubameyang as a possible reinforcement in the centre-forward position.

However, according to Roger Torello, the Gabonese striker has no intention to leave Barcelona just six months after moving to the club. It is claimed that Aubameyang worked tremendously hard to secure a move to Barcelona and is not fazed by the competition for places following Lewandowski’s addition. So, Chelsea might have to look elsewhere in their search for a new striker in the ongoing transfer window.
