La Liga champions Real Madrid are reportedly weighing up signing 28-year-old Italian international Andrea Belotti in a Bosman move this summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Andrea Belotti is the subject of interest from Real Madrid over a possible Bosman move in the summer transfer window. The 28-year-old Italian international is a free agent after running down his contract with Torino at the turn of the month.

Andrea Belotti has been one of the most consistent performers in Serie A in the last half a decade, producing some brilliant displays. Some of his individual campaigns were pivotal in keeping Torino in the Italian top flight, and he amassed a solid record of 113 goals and 28 assists in 251 outings for the Granata.

But Belotti’s stint with Torino has ended at the turn of the month, as he has become a free agent after running down his contract. But despite the solid record for the Italian club, the 28-year-old Italian international is yet to get any closer to joining his next club. That stalemate could soon end, with Real Madrid setting sights on him.

Carlo Ancelotti recently insisted that Real Madrid will not sign any new players heading into the final month of the summer transfer window. But that stance has changed in the last few days amid uncertainties surrounding the futures of Marco Asensio, Borja Mayoral, and Mariano Diaz.

Recent reports have claimed that Mayoral is on the verge of joining Getafe in a €10 million deal. With Mariano Diaz also attracting several clubs and Asensio entering the final year of his contract, Real Madrid might have to delve into the market again; this time to sign a striker.

Belotti has thus emerged as a viable target for Real Madrid, with his status of a free agent making him an attractive proposition. The other options on Real Madrid’s radar are Edin Dzeko and Edinson Cavani, with the latter also a free agent after leaving Manchester United.

It will be interesting to see if Belotti becomes a top target for Real Madrid in the coming weeks. But the 28-year-old Italian international will likely be eager to finalise his next destination as soon as possible, although he will have to bide his time to join Real Madrid.
