Ligue 1 giants OGC Nice are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United full-back Alex Telles this summer.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, French club OGC Nice have made Manchester United left-back Alex Telles a summer transfer target. The Brazilian international joined the Red Devils in the 2020 summer transfer window from FC Porto in a €15 million deal.

Telles was signed as an understudy for Luke Shaw, but the England international’s dodgy injury record meant the 29-year-old got many more chances than he would have previously hoped for when he joined Manchester United.

Across two seasons, the Brazilian full-back has made 50 appearances for Manchester United in all competitions. That tally includes 21 Premier League appearances from last season, as compared to nine league matches played from his debut campaign.

His performances have, however, left a lot to be desired, and he could be on his way out of the club this summer with Shaw now fully fit. New Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has signed left-back Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord, which could send Telles further down the pecking order.

Erik ten Hag curiously deployed Telles as a defensive midfielder in a couple of pre-season matches on Manchester United’s tour to Thailand and Australia, signalling the player does not have a future at left-back under the Dutch tactician.

Manchester United are reportedly ready to part ways with the full-back this summer for the right price, with two years left on the Brazilian’s contract with the club. Telles’s former club FC Porto have registered an interest in re-signing him this summer, but they are yet to make an official approach.

Meanwhile, OGC Nice have entered the race to sign the Brazilian full-back from Manchester United and are keen to get him on board this summer. Manager Lucian Favre requires reinforcements in the left-back position, where he is seriously understaffed.

The Ligue 1 giants just have Melvin Bard as their recognised left-back, making a signing for the position amongst their top priority. Nice have made two signings thus far for their senior squad in the ongoing transfer window. Left-winger Rares Illie has arrived from FC Rapid, whereas goalkeeper Marcin Bulka has joined from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
