Turkish giants Galatasaray are interested in Tottenham Hotspur star Tanguy Ndombele.

According to Media Foot, Turkish Superlig side Galatasaray are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur star Tanguy Ndombele in the ongoing 2022 summer transfer window and have lodged an enquiry to assess the possibility of a move.

The French midfielder joined Spurs from Olympique Lyonnais in the summer of 2019 for a then-club-record fee. Ndombele found the back of the net on his debut but has failed to push on and establish himself as a mainstay in the Spurs midfield.

Ndombele struggled with injuries and did not enjoy success under Mauricio Pochettino or Jose Mourinho. The subsequent arrivals of Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte did little to improve matters and he now remains on the fringes of the Spurs senior roster.

The 25-year-old returned to the Groupama Stadium last January but was not convincing enough for the Ligue 1 side to make his stay permanent. Ndombele is now back in North London and believes he could yet make it at the N-17.

Tottenham signed Rodrigo Bentancur last January and followed it up by bringing in Yves Bissouma this summer. They add to a midfield roster that already consists of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp. The chances of Ndomble breaking into Conte’s plans appear remote, even though Winks is headed for an exit.

The Frenchman will do well to earn himself a move away from Tottenham and rekindle his career elsewhere. His reputation as an upcoming player has been tarnished somewhat, but at 25, he has plenty of time to turn it around. Galatasaray have enquired about securing his services, and a move to Turkey might help him discover the old flame away from the spotlight.

The Turkish giants view Ndombele as an alternative for PSG star Idrissa Gueye who is not keen on moving to Galatasaray. Tottenham are seeking €50 million for the player, an unrealistic figure given his current reputation. Galatasaray are unlikely to splash the cash and might seek to sign the player on loan.

Ndombele has all the raw ingredients to develop into a world-class footballer but has failed to develop as a player at Tottenham. Having been left out of the pre-season tour by Conte, the Frenchman appears to have played his last game for the Lilywhites and a move to Galatasaray could come to fruition, while he is also attracting interest from Italian champions AC Milan.
