La Liga giants Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are both reportedly tracking the progress of 18-year-old Serbian prodigy Samed Bazdar.

According to a report by Spanish publication MARCA, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are among the clubs showing interest in Serbian prodigy Samed Bazdar. The 18-year-old centre-forward currently represents Partizan Belgrade in the Serbian top flight.

The youngster is a versatile attacker who can play as a second striker or an attacking midfielder and has also been used as a central midfielder. However, Bazdar’s preferred position is still centre forward. In all, he has represented Partizan’s senior side in ten matches and has also scored a goal for them.

Juventus were among the first clubs to show interest in the teenage prodigy and even made a formal approach last summer. However, the Serbian outfit rejected the advancements of the Serie A giants. Real Madrid have submitted an enquiry as well, intending to sign him for the reserves before promoting him to the first team, as they did with Vinicius Junior.

Atletico Madrid are the latest club to show interest in Bazdar, who still has two years left on his contract with the Serbian club. The Colchoneros are currently tracking the 18-year-old prodigy, who they believe could be one of the next-gen stars.

The teenage wonderkid has also made seven appearances for the Serbian under-19 side and has scored two goals for them. For Partizan’s under-17 side, the youngster has scored 37 goals in 29 matches, while for the under-19 side, he has eight strikes and two assists.

Bazdar has shown that he is almost ready for first-team football in his handful of appearances for the Serbian club’s senior squad, which has alerted quite a few clubs across Europe. He has started the new season in fine fashion, scoring a goal in his only appearance so far in the Serbian Super Liga.

With the form that the 18-year-old whizkid is showing recently, it will not come as a surprise if other European giants start to register their interest in him as well, making it a transfer tug-of-war between some of the biggest clubs on the continent. As for Real Madrid, Bazdar will be the latest prodigious talent to join them after Alvaro Leiva.
