Juventus open to letting Arthur leave on loan-to-buy deal

Juventus are ready to entertain a loan deal with a buy option for Arthur Melo, with Arsenal reportedly interested.

According to Tutto Juve, Juventus could be open to allowing Arthur Melo to leave the club if a reasonable offer arrives in this window. The Serie A giants are willing to accept a loan move for the midfielder with a buy option, and Arsenal have reportedly reignited their interest in the Brazilian.

Arthur Melo was close to signing for Arsenal in January, only for Juventus to disagree with the Gunners over the loan proposal on the table. As a result, the midfielder stayed back at the Allianz Stadium. However, he is surplus to requirements in Turin as Massimiliano Allegri moves in a different direction with the choice of players at his disposal.

The arrival of Paul Pogba on a free transfer has given Allegri a new dimension to reshape his midfield. It leaves no room for players like Adrien Rabiot and Arthur, with Arsenal still reportedly keen on the latter.

The Gunners reportedly reignited their interest in the Brazilian as Mikel Arteta actively searches for a new midfielder to improve the central areas. Other players are mentioned, including Oleksandr Zinchenko, who is close to completing his move to Arsenal.

Youri Tielemans is also an option, with Arsenal having chased the Leicester City star since January. He reportedly remains keen on signing for Arsenal and is ready to snub the advances of other interested sides. But, the Gunners are keeping their options open, with Arthur’s name also under consideration.

Arthur certainly holds qualities that attract Arteta, as the Brazilian ticks many boxes needed for the left central midfield position. The same goes for Tielemans and Lucas Paqueta, who is available for €40 million after Lyon recently slashed their huge asking price.

Arsenal’s offer in January for Arthur was a simple loan, with Juventus unable to agree on the terms offered. The Turin side wanted a longer duration with an obligation to buy at the end of the tenure. The Italian giants are ready to compromise and allow Arthur to leave on a loan deal, provided there’s a buy option in the contract. Juventus reportedly want a €30 million purchase option included.

Such a deal could favour Arsenal. Arthur certainly is of interest to them, and the Gunners could sign him now and probably look to evaluate his performances at the end of the season and then decide whether to pay the price tag set by Juventus. Arteta and Edu Gaspar could ponder approaching in the coming days, although Tielemans remains the fans’ choice for their midfield.
