Everton and West Ham United have reportedly joined Sevilla in the race to sign Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe, who will be sold this summer.

According to Fichajes, Everton and West Ham United have shown an interest in signing Arsenal forward Nicolas Pepe. However, the two clubs will face competition from Leicester City and Sevilla in the race for the Ivorian.

Pepe joined Arsenal from LOSC Lille in the summer of 2019 in a club-record transfer. However, three years into his stint, the winger has failed to justify the massive investment made in him by the Gunners, having been largely inconsistent throughout.

The Ivory Coast international has fallen out of favour under manager Mikel Arteta and was used sparingly last season. Arsenal are ready to cash in on the winger this summer as they look to bring in a new face to bolster their attacking unit.

Leeds United have shown an interest in Pepe, as a potential replacement for Raphinha, despite adding Luis Sinisterra. Now Everton and West Ham United have also entered the race to sign the Arsenal winger before the transfer window closes.

Everton are in the market for new attacking additions after losing talisman Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth £60 million. Given their financial issues, the Toffees cannot go big in the transfer market this summer. So a move for someone like Pepe, who could be available in a cut-price deal, could be an appealing prospect.

West Ham United are also looking to add more firepower to their attacking unit to address their over-reliance on Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio in the final third. A new centre-forward is at the top of David Moyes’ agenda, with deals for Armando Broja and Gianluca Scamacca in the works. At the same time, another wide attacker would be brought in to replace Andriy Yarmolenko, making Pepe a viable target.

Apart from Everton and West Ham, La Liga giants Sevilla are also interested in the Arsenal outcast, while Leicester City are also keeping tabs on the winger’s situation. With seemingly no shortage of suitors for the Ivory Coast international, it will be interesting to see where he ends up this summer as his time at the Emirates comes to an end.
