Bayern Munich are reportedly prepared to negotiate with Barcelona over a summer move for Robert Lewandowski.

According to journalist Josep Soldado Gomez, Bayern Munich are ready to enter into negotiations with Barcelona over a move for star striker Robert Lewandowski in the summer transfer window. The Poland international has expressed the desire to leave, but the two clubs are yet to finalise a deal.

Lewandowski has been clear on his stance on leaving Bayern Munich and joining Barcelona since early summer. However, the two European giants have not been able to agree on terms and with a year remaining on the player’s contract, the Bundesliga champions are in no hurry to sell.

Barcelona have reportedly made an official offer worth €50 million for the Bayern Munich hitman, but other reports claim that the Bavarian giants are holding out for at least €60 million. And the latest updates now claim that Bayern Munich are ready to start negotiations to find a common ground with Barcelona.

Josep Soldado Gomez adds that Lewandowski has requested the Bundesliga champions’ board to facilitate his move to Barcelona. It is now up to the Catalan giants to make a ‘good offer’ to sign the 33-year-old from Bayern Munich this summer.

The 33-year-old Poland international has grown into one of the world’s best strikers during his time with Bayern Munich. In eight seasons for the club, Lewandowski has scored 344 goals across all competitions in 384 matches, on top of providing 72 assists.

Lewandowski has won eight Bundesliga titles with the German club and was also named The Best FIFA Men’s Player of the Year twice, in 2020 and 2021. There is no shortage of personal and team accolades that Lewandowski has added to his cabinet during his time in Bavaria, but he seems to be heading toward an exit from the Allian Arena now.

Meanwhile, Barcelona have confirmed the signings of Raphinha from Leeds United, Franck Kessie from AC Milan and Andreas Christensen from Chelsea (on a free transfer). The Catalan giants are currently in negotiations with Manchester United over a possible sale of midfielder Frenkie de Jong. As for the pursuit of Lewandowski, it will be interesting to see if they reach an agreement with Bayern Munich for their priority target.
