Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly considering a summer move for French attacker Amine Gouiri, valued at €42 million by OGC Nice.

According to Fichajes, Manchester United have drawn a six-man shortlist to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, who is reportedly edging closer to an exit from Old Trafford. OGC Nice’s Amine Gouiri is among the players the Red Devils are tracking to sign should the Portuguese international leave this summer, with the Ligue 1 club demanding €42 million for him.

Towards the end of the recently-concluded season, Ronaldo was reportedly waiting to see if Manchester United secured UEFA Champions League football for the next season. Even though the club failed in their quest to finish in the top four, the 37-year-old had decided to honour his contract.

But recent developments have seen Ronaldo miss three consecutive days of training as the Manchester United squad assembled for the pre-season under new manager Erik ten Hag. His agent Jorge Mendes is reportedly talking to potential suitors, including the likes of Barcelona and Chelsea.

The former Real Madrid star seems destined to leave Manchester United after growing frustrated with their inactivity in the transfer market this summer. With his departure now imminent, the Red Devils have started looking for potential replacements for Ronaldo and have identified six strikers as options to consider.

Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez, Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, Bayer Leverkusen’s Patrik Schick, RB Leipzig’s Andre Silva, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and OGC Nice’s Amine Gouiri are the six strikers on Manchester United’s shortlist.

As far as Gouiri is concerned, Manchester United are not the only club showing interest in signing the 22-year-old. Spanish giants Real Madrid and Premier League side Newcastle United have both been linked with the French striker, along with Arsenal, AC Milan and Sevilla.

The youngster still has two years remaining on his contract with the Ligue 1 club and will cost €42 million as per the report. It is still unclear whether Nice will want to sell him this summer. In two seasons with the club, Gouiri has scored 28 goals and provided 18 assists in 84 matches, and in the recently-concluded season, the 22-year-old French striker contributed 12 goals and ten assists across competitions.
