Real Madrid prospect Takefusa Kubo has reportedly emerged on the radar of newly-promoted La Liga club Real Valladolid over a move this summer.

According to a report by Spanish publication Diario de Valladolid, Takefusa Kubo is the subject of interest from Real Valladolid over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The new boys of La Liga want to sign the Real Madrid prospect on a season-long loan deal and hope to be third time lucky in his pursuit.

Takefusa Kubo has lost his sheen since joining Real Madrid from FC Tokyo as a prodigious young winger. The Japanese international seemed destined for big things when he arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu, but his progress has become gradually slower with every loan stint away from the club.

Kubo spent the 2021/22 season on loan at RCD Mallorca but was not as impressive as his first spell with Los Piratas. The 21-year-old is now back at Real Madrid but does not have a future at the club, at least for the 2022/23 season, with all three non-EU spots at the Bernabeu occupied. And Real Valladolid could offer Kubo the chance to feature prominently in the coming campaign.

Pacheta has several wide attackers at his disposal, but a closer look will reveal that many of those players face uncertain futures at the Jose Zorrilla Stadium. The Albivioletas thus need to invest in a young forward to bolster their offensive unit in the summer transfer window, bringing Kubo into the picture.

The Japanese prospect has previously been the subject of interest from Real Valladolid, who attempted to secure his services twice previously. The new boys of la Liga will hope to be third time lucky with their bid to sign Kubo on loan from Real Madrid.

But there are also other clubs in the equation, with Real Sociedad reportedly in advanced talks to sign the 21-year-old from Real Madrid. In addition, the report mentions Osasuna as a possible suitor, meaning Real Valladolid could have an uphill task in the race to sign the young winger.

For now, what remains certain is that Kubo will not play for Real Madrid in the 2022/23 season. It will be interesting to see if Real Valladolid will use the Ronaldo connection to usurp Real Sociedad in the race to sign the Real Madrid prospect this summer.
