Manchester United are reportedly considering a summer swoop for Brazilian forward Gabriel Veron, who is valued at £10 million by Palmeiras.

According to the Mirror, Manchester United are planning to rope in 19-year-old Brazilian prospect Gabriel Veron from Palmeiras in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Gabriel Veron came through the ranks at Palmeiras and made his first-team breakthrough for the Brazilian giants in 2019, aged just 17. He has grown into a regular for them, racking up 93 appearances in which he has 13 goals and assists apiece.

The versatile forward can play anywhere in the final third and has made 33 appearances in the 2022 season, producing a sub-par return of one goal and five assists. Despite that, Veron is considered a special talent that has been on the radars of Manchester United in the past and have rekindled their interest in the Brazil Under-20 international.

Manchester United have a reputation for signing and blooding young talents with potential. They are always on the lookout for the best youth prospects in Europe and across the globe as they look to make their academy and reserve squads more robust and produce stars for the future from within the club.

Marcus Rashford, Scott McTominay and Anthony Elanga have all become key members of the first-team setup in recent seasons. And Alejandro Garnacho is likely to be handed a more prominent role by new manager Erik ten Hag in the upcoming campaign.

Keeping in line with that, Manchester United have now set their sights on a summer move for Gabriel Veron. However, the report claims that should the Red Devils sign the 19-year-old Brazilian ace, they will likely send him out on loan immediately to help him acclimatise to European football by playing regularly.

The report further claims that Portuguese giants Sporting CP could be a potential loan destination for Veron, should he make the jump to Manchester United this summer.

Several other clubs in Europe are believed to hold an interest in the forward, which has prompted Palmeiras into considering a sale. The Brazilian giants value him at £10 million, even though he signed a new contract earlier this year to extend his stay at the club until 2026. What now remains to be seen is if Manchester United launch a move for the teenage prospect.
