Jesse Lingard has made his demands known to interested clubs like Everton and West Ham United following the expiry of his contract with Manchester United.

According to Football Insider, Jesse Lingard is demanding weekly wages worth £150,000 per week amid growing interest from Everton and West Ham United. Lingard’s contract with the Red Devils ran out last month, and the England international is now free to join any other club in a Bosman move.

A Manchester United youth product, Lingard’s lengthy association with the club has now come to an end. The 29-year-old spent 21 years with the Red Devils, rising through the ranks to find himself a spot in the first team.

He was linked with an exit over the past two windows but stayed put to see off his contract. After seeing his game time see a drastic reduction after the 2019/20 season, Lingard was sent on a six-month loan to West Ham United in the 2021 winter window, where he excelled.

The midfielder scored nine times and assisted five goals in the second half of the season, making a case to return to the Manchester United starting line-up. He went back to Manchester with the hope that he would be part of then-manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans, but things did not pan out as he would have hoped.

Lingard was restricted to a bit-part role, and Newcastle United and West Ham United approached Manchester United for a winter move for the 29-year-old. But the Red Devils blocked the move, urging Lingard to see off his contract with the club before moving on.

Now with his Manchester United contract expired, Lingard is now a free agent, with Everton and West Ham United interested in getting him on board. Tottenham were also reportedly interested in a move, but they have walked out of a possible move.

West Ham have reportedly offered him a long-term deal, but Lingard is holding out for a £150,000-a-week contract, which amounts to £7.5 million per year.

David Moyes is a big admirer of the England international, but as per the report, with a tight wage structure in effect at the London outfit, West Ham could decide against signing Lingard. Everton, on the other hand, could be willing to meet the player’s demands after seeing Fabian Delph depart from Goodison Park this summer.

Everton should avoid him, if he’s so good , why has Man United let him go.

Lingard for 7.5million a year is still cheap when we don’t have to pay a transfer fee to agents or clubs
