Liverpool and Juventus are in contact for Adrien Rabiot, with the French midfielder free to leave Turin with a year left on his deal.

According to 90 min, Liverpool have been in touch with Juventus regarding the transfer of Adrien Rabiot, who has several other suitors in this window. The France international is free to leave Juventus at a reasonable price after entering the final year of his deal in Turin.

Adrien Rabiot garnered plenty of interest in 2019 when his PSG contract was about to expire. However, he chose Juventus as the preferred destination, and things have been hit and miss in Turin. The Frenchman has made more than 120 appearances for the Bianconeri over three seasons but could depart in this window.

Rabiot’s contract has one year left, and Juventus would like to cash in now instead of lose him on a free next summer. Furthermore, the Turin side had already signed Denis Zakaria in January, enabling them to do away with the Frenchman if a reasonable offer comes in.

With tremendous interest from Premier League, a reasonable offer might arrive in the coming weeks. Chelsea and Manchester United have shown their admiration for the 27-year-old. At the same time, others might jump in late.

Newcastle United are also keen, but the absence of European football may hinder the Magpies from luring in the Frenchman. Liverpool have now entered the race to sign Rabiot, with Jurgen Klopp reportedly eager to have the midfielder at his disposal.

Liverpool have contacted Juventus to understand the details of a possible transfer. Juventus are keen to let Rabiot leave, and the Merseyside giants could look for a bargain deal for the French international. Klopp wants to bring variety to his central areas.

The report claims that Juventus asked for Naby Keita in exchange, but they have now set their sights on Roberto Firmino instead. The Bianconeri might ask Liverpool to include the Brazilian in the deal for Rabiot, which may benefit both clubs.

Liverpool have already signed Darwin Nunez earlier in the window, which could hamper Firmino’s status in the squad. While Klopp has enough firepower to do without the Brazilian, a new midfielder could bring some tactical ideas to the table.

Whether Liverpool can entice Rabiot ahead of other Premier League rivals remains to be seen. However, as the weeks go by, there could be further interest from clubs such as Chelsea or Manchester United, forcing the Reds to agree on a deal with Juventus swiftly.
