Premier League giants Manchester United are willing to offer Christian Eriksen a £150,000-a-week deal, with Tottenham and Newcastle United also eyeing him.

According to a report by Daily Mirror, Christian Eriksen could soon have a two-year contract worth £150,000 per week on his table from Manchester United. The Red Devils face stiff competition from Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United in the race to sign the Danish playmaker in the summer transfer window.

Christian Eriksen has scripted a fairytale comeback to football after suffering from a cardiac arrest during Denmark’s UEFA Euro 2020 opener against Finland last year. The 30-year-old returned to training a few months later, but Serie A rules prevented him from playing with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator.

But while Eriksen’s stint with Inter Milan ended, Brentford handed him a route back to football, and he repaid their faith handsomely. The Danish international chipped in with one goal and four assists in 11 outings, helping the Bees finish comfortably clear of the drop zone. But Eriksen has become a free agent after the expiration of his Brentford deal, with Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United vying for his signature.

The interest from Manchester United is intriguing, considering Erik ten Hag already has Bruno Fernandes at his disposal, with Frenkie de Jong closing in on arriving from Barcelona. But Eriksen is capable of playing on the right-wing, doing so under the tutelage of Mauricio Pochettino during his stint with Tottenham.

Eriksen is thus a viable target for Manchester United, with the Red Devils willing to offer him a two-year contract worth £150,000 per year. Meanwhile, recent reports have suggested that Spurs might no longer be in the equation to sign the 30-year-old, but Daily Mirror has linked him with Tottenham. And Eriksen could be a solid addition to Antonio Conte’s squad, boosting Spurs’ creative ranks.

As for Newcastle United, the Magpies have reportedly submitted an offer to the Danish playmaker. And despite Bruno Guimaraes’s stupendous success since arriving from Lyon, the Tyneside giants need to boost their creative options. Eriksen is thus an option worth considering. Meanwhile, in addition to Manchester United, Tottenham and Newcastle, Brentford, Everton and Leicester City also want to sign the veteran midfielder.

But Manchester United’s two-year, £150,000-a-week contract offer might blow Tottenham, Newcastle and the other suitors out of the race to sign him. However, game-time will also be a crucial factor in a World Cup year, meaning the transfer saga might not be over yet.
