Mohamed Salah has committed his long-term future to Liverpool, reportedly signing a new three-year contract worth £350,000 per week.
Premier League heavyweights Liverpool have made an official statement to confirm that they have tied Mohamed Salah to a new long-term contract. The length of the deal is not mentioned in the announcement, but the dependable Paul Joyce has claimed the Egyptian forward has signed a three-year £350,000-a-week contract.
Mohamed Salah has transformed into a global icon since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in July 2017. The 30-year-old has been a pivotal figure for the Reds in the last half a decade, playing a leading role in the unprecedented modern-day success they have enjoyed, including winning the UEFA Champions League title and the elusive Premier League triumph.
The Egyptian forward has an excellent record for Liverpool, amassing 156 goals and 63 assists in 254 outings thus far while also winning the Golden Boot thrice. But Salah’s long-term future has been the subject of grave concern for the Merseyside giants for the better part of the past year.
With every passing month, the concerns surrounding Salah’s Liverpool future grew, and recent reports suggested the Reds were bracing themselves for his departure as a free agent next year. At the same time, high-profile clubs across Europe started licking their lips over the prospect of landing the Liverpool forward.

Reports also claimed that Liverpool contemplated selling Salah for £60 million if the impasse between the two parties continued. But the Premier League heavyweights have announced Salah’s contract renewal out of nowhere, just like the acquisition of their talisman from AS Roma five years ago.
According to the reliable Paul Joyce of The Times, Salah has signed a new three-year contract worth £350,000 per week. And the 30-year-old expressed his delight at committing his long-term future to Liverpool after penning the new deal.
Salah said, “I feel great and [I am] excited to win trophies with the club. It’s a happy day for everyone. It takes a little bit of time, I think, to renew, but now everything is done so we just need to focus on what’s next. I think you can see in the last five or six years the team was always going [upwards].”
“Last season we were close to winning four, but unfortunately in the last week of the season we lost two trophies. I think we are in a good position to fight for everything. We have new signings as well. We just need to keep working hard, have a good vision, be positive and go for everything again.”

Salah will now hope to rediscover his best touch after struggling to perform consistently in the second half of the 2021/22 season. With Sadio Mane no longer at Anfield, Salah’s contributions will be worth their weight in gold if they were not already in the last five years.
