Real Madrid will reportedly have to stump up €120 million to secure the services of teenage English prodigy Jude Bellingham next year.
According to a report by German publication Sport Bild, Borussia Dortmund will demand around €120 million to part ways with Jude Bellingham in next year’s summer transfer window. The teenage English prodigy is a target for Real Madrid and several Premier League clubs.
Jude Bellingham is one of the hottest properties in the market despite still being in his teens. The 19-year-old has had the world at his feet since bursting into the limelight as a 16-year-old at Birmingham City. And he has gone from strength to strength since joining Borussia Dortmund two years ago.
The teenage prodigy is already a pivotal figure for Dortmund while also establishing a foothold in the English national team. Bellingham has turned out 90 times for the Bundesliga giants, chipping in with ten goals and 18 assists. And his progress has captured the attention of some of the most high-profile clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid.
The interest from Real Madrid stems from the advancing years of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. The former will turn 37 this year and is approaching the end of his glittering career, while the latter has given signs of early retirement and might call time on his playing days in the coming seasons, even though he is only 32 years old.
So Bellingham has emerged as a viable target for Real Madrid, with the teenage English prodigy potentially a long-term successor to Modric. The Spanish giants have already initiated discussions with Borussia Dortmund over a possible move for the 19-year-old in 2023, with talks with the player also lined up.
Recent reports have claimed that Real Madrid will be willing to pay up to €100 million to secure the youngster’s services next year. But Los Blancos will likely have to fork out a little more to land Bellingham, with Borussia Dortmund slapping a €120 million price tag on him.
While the €120 million price tag might appear daunting, Real Madrid might be able to afford to pay such a sum. But the Merengues face stiff competition from several Premier League clubs in the race to sign the 19-year-old English international, with Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool keen on signing him.
