Hakim Ziyech is reportedly a target for Inter Milan, who have entered the chase for the Chelsea attacker, but face competition from many other clubs.
According to Fichajes, Hakim Ziyech has emerged on the radar of Inter Milan, with his Chelsea future plunging in doubt with each passing week. The Nerazzurri are keen on signing the Moroccan forward and could make an approach in the coming days.
Hakim Ziyech was expected to become an integral part of Chelsea’s attack, and a €40 million move from Ajax made plenty of sense at the time. The Blues were lauded for the shrewd acquisition, but the Moroccan playmaker has not been the player everyone wanted him to be.
There could be plenty of changes at Chelsea this summer, with new owner Todd Boehly likely to overhaul many things at the club. Recently, many top-level executives have departed the club, and the focus could now shift towards the squad.
With at least two defenders leaving the club, and many more players could leave in the coming weeks. But there are no signs of any signings, apart from the links with Raheem Sterling, and Chelsea have not got into their stride in this window.
Chelsea will soon see Romelu Lukaku leave on loan and return to Inter Milan; the Nerazzurri are keen on signing another Chelsea player in Hakim Ziyech. However, the Moroccan’s future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain, and he could depart from the west London club.
There are clubs from the Premier League and abroad who remain interested in the 29-year-old. Ziyech made 44 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea last term; he only managed 14 starts in the Premier League. And Thomas Tuchel seems to have lost trust the player and remains open to a sale.
Inter Milan are keen to bring in a new attacker to improve Simone Inzaghi’s squad, as they narrowly missed out on the Serie A title last season. Champions, AC Milan, have also shown interest in the Chelsea forward, and a transfer tussle for the Moroccan could be on the cards.
A move to Italy could be appealing for Ziyech, but he might wait longer to see if he has a future at Chelsea next season. However, if the club are to receive a solid offer from an interested party, they might consider a sale.
